Health Policy

All health and immunization forms must be returned to the director on or before the first day of school. Montgomery County law prohibits a child from attending school without documented evidence of immunization.

Children who are sick not only spread germs, but also have a hard time learning and participating in school activities and should not be brought to school.

Parents are asked to keep a child home if:

bullet

He/she has had a fever (over 100º F) in the past 24 hours, a deep chest cough, or a sore throat.

bullet

He/she has red runny eyes or a runny nose with green discharge.

bullet

He/she has had diarrhea or vomiting in the past 24 hours.

bullet

He/she has an unexplained rash.

If children develop these symptoms at school the parents will be notified and expected to pick up the child.

BCNS will only dispense prescription medication if it is accompanied by a prescription and doctor’s form indicating the precise time and quantity to be administered. Non-prescription medication may be brought into the school and administered only by a parent/guardian.
